Overview

The Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) in Artificial Intelligence and Automation Practitioner (Higher Apprenticeship) is designed for individuals who want to develop practical skills in artificial intelligence, automation, process improvement, and digital transformation.

As organisations increasingly adopt AI-enabled technologies, there is growing demand for professionals who can identify opportunities for automation, improve business processes, and support organisational change. This apprenticeship combines academic learning with workplace application, enabling you to develop knowledge and skills that can be applied directly within your organisation. Through a blend of face-to-face teaching, online learning, and workplace-based activities, you will learn how to analyse business processes, design AI-enabled solutions, evaluate their effectiveness, and support continuous improvement. The course is suitable for both new entrants and existing employees who wish to develop their digital capabilities and contribute to organisational innovation and efficiency.

On completion of your apprenticeship you will be awarded a CertEd Artificial Intelligence and Automation Practitioner (Higher Apprenticeship) from the Âé¶¹´«Ã½.

This module introduces you to organisational processes, stakeholder engagement, and process mapping techniques. You will analyse workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recognise opportunities for process improvement and automation within workplace settings.

This module focuses on designing and developing AI-enabled and automated solutions. You will explore workflow design, automation tools, low-code and no-code platforms, solution prototyping, and the practical application of AI technologies within organisations.

This module develops skills in testing, evaluating, and improving automation solutions. You will learn how to assess solution performance, identify issues, ensure reliability and compliance, and apply continuous improvement techniques.

This module examines the implementation and adoption of AI-enabled solutions within organisations. Topics include change management, stakeholder engagement, user adoption, performance measurement, and continuous improvement

Following successful completion of the on-programme learning and Gateway requirements, apprentices will complete the Apprentice Assessment in accordance with the AI and Automation Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard.

Apprenticeship Funding

Degree Apprenticeships are only offered to students undertaking the course as part of their employment. Apprenticeship training will therefore be funded directly by employers or by employers in partnership with Government. Apprentices will not be required to pay any tuition or course fees, and will not be eligible for any Student Finance England maintenance support.
