Caroline joined the Library and Learning Services team at the Âé¶¹´«Ã½ as an Academic Skills Advisor in 2023. She has extensive experience teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) in the UK and internationally, and has worked across a range of educational settings including private language schools and Further Education colleges.
More recently, she worked as an Academic Skills Tutor at a UK university, supporting foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate students across a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds.
Caroline holds a PhD in English Language Teaching from the University of Essex. Her doctoral thesis, Healthcare students’ experiences of writing at university: negotiating theory, practice and identity formation, explores student writing on Health and Social Care programmes, with a particular focus on writer identity and positioning. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA).
